Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian & Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian

Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian

The Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian starts from the heart region, runs down to connect with the small intestine, and ascends along the medial aspect of the upper limb to the chest and neck.

Origin: Begins in the heart (connecting with the heart system) and descends to link with the small intestine.

Ascending Branch: From the heart system, it ascends, hugging the throat, and connects to the "eye system" (the part where the eyeball attaches to the brain).

From the heart system, it exits, loops up through the lung, surfaces below the armpit (Jiquan, HT1), runs along the posterior medial upper limb, passes through the elbow (Shaohai, HT3), descends along the forearm's posterior medial border (Lingdao, Tongli, Yinxi, Shenmen, etc.), reaches the pisiform bone (Shenmen, HT7), enters the palm's posterior border (Shaofu, HT8), and exits at the little finger's radial tip (Shaochong, HT9, connecting to Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian).

Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian

The Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian starts from the tip of the little finger, runs along the lateral aspect of the upper limb, and connects to the small intestine and heart, ascending to the head and neck region.

Origin: Starts at the little finger’s ulnar tip (Shaoze, SI1), runs along the hand’s ulnar back to the wrist (Yanggu, SI5), exits behind the ulnar styloid (Yanglao, SI6), ascends the forearm’s posterior - lateral border (Zhizheng, Xiaohai, etc.), passes the elbow’s lateral aspect (Xiaohai, SI8), ascends the upper arm’s posterior - lateral border (Jianzhen, SI9), emerges behind the shoulder (Naoshu, SI10), circles the scapula (Tianzong, Bingfeng, Quyuan, etc.), meets at Dazhui, moves through the supraclavicular fossa (Quepen) into the deep chest, connects to the heart, descends via the diaphragm to the small intestine.

Branches: A branch from Quepen ascends along the neck to the cheek (Quanliao, SI18), reaches the outer canthus of the eye (Tongziliao, GB1, connecting with the Foot - Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian), then turns back to enter the ear (Tinggong, SI19). Another branch from the cheek ascends below the eye socket, reaches the side of the nose (Yingxiang, LI20, connecting with the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian).
