Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian & Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian

Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian

The Taiyin Lung Meridian of Hand starts from the chest, runs along the anterior border of the medial aspect of the upper limb, and ends at the hand.

Origin:It originates from the middle jiao (spleen and stomach region), descends to connect with the large intestine, then turns back to encircle the upper orifice of the stomach.

Upward Course:Passing through the diaphragm, it pertains to the lung, ascends along the throat, and reaches the upper outer side of the chest (Zhongfu, LU1).

Superficial Path: Starting from the upper outer chest, it descends along the anterior border of the medial aspect of the upper limb (radial side of the biceps brachii), passes through Cunkou (the radial artery area), and terminates at the radial tip of the thumb (Shaoshang, LU11).

Branch:Emerging from the posterior side of the wrist (Lieque, LU7), it runs along the radial side of the index finger and connects with the Yangming Large Intestine Meridian of Hand.

Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian

Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian starts at the hand, runs along the anterior border of the lateral upper limb, and ascends to the head-face.

Origin: Begins at the radial tip of the index finger (Shangyang, LI1), ascends along the radial index finger, passes between the 1st/2nd metacarpals (Hegu, LI4), enters the space between extensor pollicis longus/brevis tendons (Yangxi, LI5), and runs along the anterior border of the lateral forearm to the lateral elbow (Quchi, LI11).

Upward Course: From the elbow, runs along the anterior border of the lateral upper arm to the shoulder, passes Jianyu (LI15), emerges from the anterior acromion, meets Dazhui (GV14) at the neck, descends into the supraclavicular fossa, connects to the lung, passes through the diaphragm, and pertains to the large intestine.

Branch: Branches from the supraclavicular fossa, ascends to the neck, passes the cheek, enters the lower teeth, circles to the upper lip, crosses at the philtrum (left→right, right→left), and distributes at both sides of the nostrils (Yingxiang, LI20), connecting with Foot Yangming Stomach Meridian.
